What are pies?
A pie has a tender “short crust pastry” and can be filled with just about anything – yuuuum! Ideas?
Where are the pies made?
In the one and only Flying Pie Me Kitchen in Bonn.
Are the pies vegan?
We have a large selection of vegan pies!
Are the pies gluten free?
Unfortunately we cant offer Gluten Free Pies as they would be produced in our bakery using the same equipment as for our usual Pies and we can’t rule out cross-contamination from Gluten in Wheat Flour.
Where do your ingredients come from?
We work with many local suppliers, which is super important to us. The meat we use comes from selected farms in the nearby Eifel region. Our potato farmer Reinhold is just up the road, our dairy farmer is just on the other side of the Rhine. Of course, we also source products from the local wholesale market, but we use local products whenever possible.
Which allergens do I need to pay particular attention to?
All our dishes may contain traces of gluten, nuts, dairy products, peanuts, sesame, egg, soy, celery, mustard or starch.
How long do the pies last?
They have a best before date of 3 months in the freezer. After defrosting, you can store the pies in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
What is the best way to store the pies?
It is best to store in the freezer and to defrost them before baking. But it's not a must - you can also put the pies directly in the oven from frozen.

Order
How does my order stay frozen while in transit?
The pies are packed in an insulated box and are kept frozen using ice packs.
How many pies can I fit in my freezer? / How big is the packaging?
A pie box is 11x11x5 cm. Of course, all freezers are different sizes, but 18 Pies fit in one standard freezer draw.
Packaging
Do you use reusable packaging?
Yes! We offer a reusable packaging solution developed by “The Ocean Plastic UG”. The boxes are partly made from plastic that is fished from the sea. By reusing the boxes, we save a lot of waste that would otherwise have to be recycled.
And what about the disposable cardboard boxes?
Our disposable boxes are made from recyclable cardboard. The insulation material is made from paper waste and is also recyclable. The ice packs should be recycled as plastic. We ship with sustainable shipping including free returns to us! So please send us the packaging material back so that we can reuse it. A free return slip is included in the package.
Zero waste shipping!
Are the pie boxes sustainable?
The individual Flying Pie Me packets are made from cardboard and have a non-plastic coating that makes them water and oil resistant. You can easily recycle the boxes as waste paper or even compost them!
What is the best way to dispose of your packaging?
The best option is to send them back to us se we can re-use them! However, the cardboard boxes, insulation material and individual pie packets should be recycled as paper waste. You should recycle the ice packs as plastic.
